Kara Square Valentine Album CoverHello my friends!  This morning I excitedly pressed a little button that unleashed the digital pre-release of my solo project Love Songs For Everyone But Especially Uke.  Everyone who pre-ordered the album has been sent an email with the full album download.  Whooooo!  It's out there now!  Eeeeee...

Thank you so, so, so much to everyone who has supported me with this project.  To me, support comes in gobs of forms.  Here are 11 things you can do to support this album release:

1. Buying the album.

2. Listening to the album.

3. Liking, Following, and Subscribing to me on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, SoundCloud, YouTube, etc.

4. Sharing the album on FB, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.

5. Commenting on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, SoundCloud, YouTube, etc.

6. Remixing and Sharing Album Songs.

7. Playing the songs on podcasts and radio shows.

8. Licensing tracks for your projects (videos, ads, movies, web films, etc.).

9. Joining my TuneTrack Green Room.

10. Joining the email list (No more than 2 updates per month and I'd never, ever sell your address.  Ever.)

11. Sending a kind message of encouragement to me!  kara[at]mindmapthat[dot]com

All of these things make a huge difference.  They help spread my music like a little seed... And you know what?  I'm finally at a pivotal point where my music is reaching more and more ears.  My ultimate dream is to make a living through music.  I've been working towards this goal seriously for over five years.  I've had the incredible fortune of my partner, Katie, supporting me through this entire time (emotionally, financially, and so much more).  And I just want to say 'thank you.'  Thank you to Katie.  Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way.  I'm not at the point where I can quit my part-time day job yet, but things are progressing.  Everything you can do to keep this momentum going is enormously helpful.  Thank you.

Now that the pre-release is unleashed, EVERYONE can stream the album for free.  If you like it, please buy it.  If you don't like it quite that much, but find it share-worthy, please share it.  I hope I get the opportunity to craft you a Valentine with my own two uke-playin' hands!  They're quite fun to make!  :D

Take care and cause ruckus,

Kara Square (1/2 of Team Smile and Nod)

A big thank you to Borys Kozielski of My Pocket Player Podcast for including "Dust from the Stars" and Kara Square's "Start Each Day With Love" on episode #341.

Soul Button

Soul Button included the vocals from TSAN's "Build" in an album remix called "The Keepers." It's a great track and he kindly mentioned Kara Square's vocals in an interview on Electrocorp. They plan to collaborate on future tracks.

The digital pre-release of Kara Square's Love Songs For Everyone But Especially Uke is now ready for Pre-Orders.  (Kara Square is half of Team Smile and Nod.)  If you Pre-Order now, you can immediately download the first 4 tracks.  On the pre-release date, Jaunuary 24th, you'll get a download code for the full album emailed to you.  But that's not all... this is a SPECIAL release, so there are options, baby!

Pinwheel500To introduce the songs in a fun, whimsical way, Kara Square is personally crafting homemade Valentines to accompany the digital pre-release. Each Valentine includes a button (designed by TheDICE) that declares “I Love Uke” and a loving lyric from the album songs handwritten on the front. A download code for the full album is on the back. There is also the option to buy Valentine multi-packs to share with friends and loved ones.

The digital pre-release will be available on January 24, 2013. The full, worldwide album release with CDS and a ukulele song book will take place on March 28, 2013. You can pre-order the CD/song book now and you'll have it in your hands before the official release date.

This is Kara Square's first completely solo effort. On the album, you'll hear her play ukulele, melodica, glockenspiel, guitar, banjo, shaker, tambourine, midi keyboard (bass/drums/synth).  And, of course, the album is dedicated to her love-song muse, Katie Miller.  As much as the songs are about Katie and Kara's love, Kara believes them to be highly universal.  Love is love is love is love, damn it.  And it's beautiful.  We hope you love this album!
